I’m married with three children(9-12-20)year olds.Together for 25,seperated twice before(Not legally),Asked by her twice to return.Again after a year & half I’m being told she has another man and wants us to be friends, she says to stay but find some one also.I’m 45,shes 38,14 when we met.Her reasons are she changed,grew-up,out grown me-don’t love me anymore. My reponse to her is a divorce this time around. What should I do ? If I move out now,can she use it against me ;Grounds:Abandonment in the future?

Best answer:

Answer by rose
It is time to get out, and get the divorce. The only way she could get you on abandonment is if you stop all contact with the underage children for 6 months or more. It is time for you to be happy and think of yourself for a change, and include your children in the change as well, you can be more than a weekend father, like most.

After nearly 14 years of marriage, my husband has left me. I am a stay-home mom (6+ years now) with no immediate career prospects (although I intended to return to work soon anyway). Ex seems to think we should remain separated so that I can maintain my standard of living (within reason), but others feel I should move on to divorce and just get a good settlement.

Answer by want a princess baby
i guess it is kind of up to u…. if u think that the seperation will work for ur situation… then so it…. u have to be legally seperated for so long anyway before a divorce can go through…. if u r that worried about it…. make sure u get child support for all of the children and then ask for alimony when it is all said and done…… good luck to u…?

Question by Bono: Help, I need legal advice here on a separation / divorce situation.?
We have no children and I’m ultimately going to divorce based on Domestic Violence and have lots of proof that my wife has been extremely violent. We have been separated for 3 months now and of course she is not making the divorce procedure easy. In the State of Georgia or Florida, how much time do I need to be separated from her before the courts grant a divorce?

Most states require that I live separately for the statutory period of time. This means no cohabitation. How much time does it takes in Florida or in Georgia?

I understand that in some states, 2 years of separation grants you a divorce automaticaly. How does this work in these states????

Question by Blondie: I need advice on separation and divorce.?
My husband and I have been separated for a little over 5 months now. We have decided not to get back together and persue divorce. Unfortunately i live in NC and supposedly the law states that we have to be separated a year to divorce which is dumb. We were only married 2 yr. Do I need to get legal separation papers before the divorce papers or can we just be separated by mutual decision. Im not sure how this works? Is there anyway around all this and can we just get divorced? We have nothing to split between each other we just want to sign the papers. Thanks

Best answer:

Answer by Sexy Homer is back!
Then you need to see a lawyer.

Or go to a law library and do your own research.

Stop asking for free legal advice from strangers on the Internet!

Question by LLL: Is it possible to file for Divorce based on Separation?
Hi there! I wasn’t happy in my marriage and I decided to divorce my husband. i moved out of our house five months ago. He told me that he is not going to sign any divorce papers. I heard that after 18 months of being separated I can file for divorce and it will be granted even without his signature. Is that true? We own two properties but I don’t want anything. i just want the divorce and that’s it! Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Softtouchmale
What you heard and what reality is are two different things.

First of all what jurisdiction did you two reside in? The law of that jurisdiction may apply.

Second, is that jurisdiction a no-fault jurisdiction? If so, then separation or not, you would be entitled to seek a divorce due to irreconcilable differences or incompatibility (depends on jurisdiction), and would be granted a divorce regardless of whether your husband wants to sign.

Finally, you could move to a no fault jurisdiction and file for a divorce there, after establishing residency, and thereafter obtain the divorce, though it would not necessarily settle the property issues.

Without more, really no one can say. Most jurisdictions that have fault laws, require a minimum separation of at least 1 year.

Firs of all, I’m sorry for my english am (it is my second language) I hope you understand my question: I have a friend who just divorced, she is a 4-year-old daughter. It is already going out with several guys and when she has no babysitter, she took her child with her dates. In my opinion, absolutely traumatic for the girls, making them a very confused child. The girls love with his father, who vue.S 33% of its police, it has to be your …. I need the professional opinion of a psychologist. I told my friend that I do not agree and it affects their child. But she thinks it is not something mal.Pourriez me your opinion, how can I help her understand that she is not much acceptable.Merci! … I appreciate your advice professionnels.Elle life away from me, I work and I have my family … I gave her too … but it leaves all the time, and invites the boys home. She will not hire a babysitter Best Answer.

answer by Kate M
I think maybe you need to talk to your friend a little more and ask him to consider the feelings of his daughter and a little more Why did not she hire a babysitter, if she has an appointment? or perhaps you could provide the child with his sitter. I think everyone has to do his own way of things, and you need to calm down, it is to raise the child as she sees fit, and no one has the right to tell someone how to raise their children. Good luck.
