Hello,I am so sorry to hear about this. If your daughter wants to stay with you , this could be possiable. how old is she? if she is 12 in most states you can file for custody and the judge would listen to her needs. and as for this boyfriend your ex has does the mother know about the racial crap? taht is rediculious.
The problem is people don;t think about who they get with shouldn’t matter but it does if you have kids. I understand what your going through I have a son in Florida me and ex get along but he had a girlfriend and believe me I asked questions you have that right and to find out anything about that person who is haring that house with your daughter. I commend you for taking this step I would definitly get to the botoom of this. good luck to you:)

Question by MoW39: Is it possible to file an uncontested divorce from the US if married in Alberta Canada to a Canadian resident?
I was married, but now want to get a divorce. My spouse is also fine with the uncontested divorce. Problem is, I am a U.S. resident living in Georgia and she is a Canadian resident living in Alberta. Can I file for divorce from here through the Canadian system or do I need to file in my current state of residency? Any advice would be great.

Question by ashlan m: I am seeking a divorce, do I need to file it through the same state we married through?
We’re from Florida, but we were married in Echols County, Georgia. Now, I am seeking to file for a divorce and I am wondering if I have to go back to Georgia to go through the process. Is there even a process? Or can I go down to the court house here in St. Augustine, Florida and file the papers. I’m trying to do this without a lawyer, we really have not acquired property/joint ownership of anything. I need some advice, thank you!

.Typically you’d file in whatever state you current reside. It does not have to be the state you were married in. Do some research online or go to the courthouse and ask about filing yourselves. I know it can be done, I do not know how to go about it.

Ugh. Ask him a marriage contract stating that you keep what is yours and get to get the best sound, if sign divorce. Watch him run.

Question by Brnskngyurl: How does someone divorce their spouse, when they only married them for their papers?
A friend of mine came here some years ago and married someone so they can get their papers. Now my friend wants to divorce their spouse because they never intended to be with this person for an extended period of time. However the spouse does not want to divorce and is willing to cause trouble and problems for other people. (To add more to the mix, there is a question of if a certain child belongs to my friend.) How do I help? What advice do I offer without getting my friend deported, but allowing them to get the divorce they want??

This sounds fishy. When you marry a US citizen, you receive a conditional green card that’s good for two years. After two years, if the couple is still married, the condition is removed and the green card becomes permanent. As long as all of the relevant paperwork was filled out, there should be no problem filing for divorce, even if the other person doesn’t want one.
But your friend committed fraud on the US Government by coming here and marrying under false pretenses. He should absolutely be deported.
