you don’t need advice, you need a divorce. you should have never gotten married in the first place. but that’s in the past now. just try to make it right. if that means getting divorced, then do it.

Question by Belva: Need Advice: Husband brought up option of Divorce twice in 6 months?
In last 6 months my husband has brought up the fact he wants divorce twice! Of course, it’s during arguments. Am I being stupid & naive for giving it a 3rd go round with him or should I be packing my bags and getting on with my life? I love him, but I won’t be reduced to threats and he inevitabley tells me he really wants to work it out. After two diferrent occasions of it being an option for him, I am wondering if he stays because he’s scared of being alone etc etc.
HELP!!
Thanks everybody (well most of you) and a big thanks to you Paul for being so human!!! I agree and feel the same way

Question by Iris: I never got divorce because my husband is no where to be found?
I never got divorced, first my husband refused to get a divorce, and fled the country. Now ,I want to get married, and I can’t. They told me that I can get re-marry by Church, if I only got married in court and in another country. How true is that? Any advice?
There got to be an easy way to divorce him other than placing ads in the newpaper which is silly, since he is out of the country. I just wanted to have a way to just go to the attorney, sign papers and keep it confidential and less painful. Any Atorney’s around?

It’s called divorce in absentia or some such. Talk to an attorney. A divorce is still feasible. Missing spouse or not.
If your ex is not around (MIA) you HAVE to place ads in public periodicals. That’s the ONLY way to do it. Sad, but true, fact.
And trust me, these types of “advertisements” are pretty much hidden in the newspapers. I wouldn’t worry about it overmuch. Not like its going to be on the front page.

Question by sleepwalkin smith: Divorce. I have 2 young girls and need to leave my husband. I am looking for any advice on where to begin!!?
There is no saving this train wreck. Last night I was called every name in the book in front of my daughters. He went on to say he hates me and each child. I am tired of him. I am tired of his mouth. I am tired of his baloney.
I have 2 under 2 and haven’t worked since my eldest was born. I am afraid! the thought of raising them alone is mind blowing but I know I can’t stay. Just looking for some advice from those who have been here…

Question by Melissa: Any advice on dealing with a cheating husband?
We have 2 young kids, and I’ve just been pushing through and ignoring it. Right now, my drinking partying husband spends about 1/2 hour a day with our kids and me. I’m worried that he will get 50% custody if we divorce. I hate him, but need advice to stay strong so I don’t have to lose my kids for so much time.

Question by Kym: I think I want to divorce my husband. Any advice?
I live in California; no children; married for a little over 1 year now; I dred coming home from work; I dred being bothered about sex when I go to bed; I am seeing a therapist for the first visit on Thursday; my family does not like him; he doesn’t have assets; we don’t own anything together.
There is nothing invested in this marriage. Should I feel guilty about wanting to leave? What other things should I be thinking about while I am pondering what to do?
I married him too soon. He proposed 3 months after our first date and I was in a vulnerable place with a sister that just passed away 2 months previous. I do agree that I made a poor decision, but I’m not looking for a tounge-lashing… I’m looking for things to consider while I am working on TRYING to see if I can get the ‘spark’ back or not.
In the meantime, I know that I am being a really ugly person to him (not having any feelings for him, not wanting to spend time doing anything with him, being consumed that he has not held a job since we married… just all around, resenting him for everything!
I’m not the person he wished I was either… either before or after we married, but he thought it was still going to be okay and apparantly it’s not.
And, yes, I have talked with him about all this. It is not going to hit him out of the blue!

Get a lawyer and get out. There is no need for you to be financing his affair and lifestyle. Call a local divorce attorney and ask for some legal counseling.
