Question by abby G: Any advice on coping with divorce?
After an almost ten year rocky relationship and of the ten years, an even rockier four year marriage, I have decided to divorce my husband. He cheated before we were married, and he cheated while we were married. I finally realized that I can not function in a relationship without trust (it took ten years and two children later) and without any indication of change. So, I had him served. Now, I am going through a time where my heart is mourning the loss of my marriage, but my mind is very clear on my decision. Any one else out there who has been divorced or going through it? Any advice on how to cope with the changes? My family dynamic is changed, my life is changed, I am still young and although he cheated, I believe as a married couple, I share in the failure of our break up as much as he did. I often feel as if I did a disservice to my children by marrying him in the first place when common sense told me otherwise since his behavior never changed. How can take positive steps toward moving on with my life?
