Does Anyone Know Turkish Law? Will A Divorce In Turkey Be Recognised In England?
Author: Divorce Dr // Category: Divorcemy ex wants me to go to Istanbul, where they are supposed to get a divorce in one day. Without knowing the law or who speaks the language I doubt it. any advice is appreciated

Well, I got divorced in Turkey and is recognized in Canada, but note that the divorce papers must be authenticated and translated into English. Good luck.

A lawyer friend said, is enough for the couple to go to court, the date and time indicated. In most cases, the divorce takes place there and then, if the couple has problems donot for family finances and housing. But I was talking to local cases.

you married in the UK, then get a divorce here, if it will happen, or if you decide to go to Turkey, do not sign anything until you've read in English and be very careful what you sign and make sure lawyer specializing in your account in divorce and, preferably, a woman who is all for women lib. Find a lawyer who speaks two languages and see the British Embassy for help.
